Rockin’ 4 Heroes Establishes $50,000 Endowment for Veteran Students and Gold Star Families at University of Arizona
Fund will provide critical financial support beyond the GI Bill
(September 26 –Tucson, AZ) – Rockin’ 4 Heroes is taking its mission of honoring those who serve to the next level with the creation of a $50,000 Endowment at the University of Arizona. The new fund will provide critical support to student veterans and Gold Star family members, helping them overcome financial gaps and focus on their academic success.
The Rockin’ 4 Heroes Veteran Student Endowment, established through the University of Arizona Foundation, will be administered by the University’s Veterans Education & Transition Services (VETS) program. Funds will assist with expenses the GI Bill doesn’t cover—such as housing, transportation, or emergency needs—ensuring students can stay on track toward graduation.
“Many student veterans are balancing school with family responsibilities and unexpected challenges,” said Michael Quinn, Founder of Rockin’ 4 Heroes. “This endowment eases those burdens and ensures they have every opportunity to succeed.”
“Programs like this Endowment from Rockin’ 4 Heroes are very impactful and help make our student veterans successful. For the veteran who has bald tires because the GI Bill doesn’t cover this, a $250 (grant) means they can get to class every single day where otherwise they may have to drop out,” said Blaze Smith, Director of VETS and ROTC programs at the University of Arizona
This marks the second endowment created by Rockin’ 4 Heroes. In 2024, the nonprofit established the Rockin’ 4 Heroes Jacob Dindinger Memorial EMT Scholarship at Pima Community College, honoring a young Tucson EMT who tragically lost his life in the line of duty.
Founded in Tucson, Rockin’ 4 Heroes’ mission is to honor and support First Responders, Active Military, Veterans, and Gold Star families, raise awareness of their selfless service and sacrifices, and inspire future generations of heroes.
The public is invited to attend the organization’s signature event, the 5th Annual Rockin’ 4 Heroes Concert, Sunday, November 9, at James D. Kreigh Park in Oro Valley. This free event features live music and pays tribute to those who protect and serve.
